This isn't a post about technology... but then again, it is.
Last week, I encountered a student who was in a pretty dark place, and I had no words of wisdom to offer, beyond recommending a visit to our guidance counselor. Afterwards, I spent some time reflecting on the fact that the student had a really distorted view of reality, as did others in some of my classes.
Later that week, I was cleaning up files, a job necessitated by the fact that I am, admittedly, an information junkie. Remarkably, I came across this article, which is a year old! It was EXACTLY what I needed, and if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.

Often I'll come across apps or articles that I'm just not ready to use; either because the timing is terrible, or my level of competence or confidence isn't there yet. Rather than toss them aside, I save them to a Live Binder or a "PD For Later" folder. It's incredible how much difference a month or two or even a year can make. :-)
